EXPLORE.

One thing Tobias and I encourage a lot in our children is curiosity and love for the environment, and to love learning new things. We never say “later” when they ask a question, we read books with them, we ask them to explain us things, we let them wander and wonder around. We believe it is so important that they know that the earth is a beautiful thing we must understand, cherish and care for.

This saturday we took a quick ride to Waimea Valley so we could see the
waterfall. The walk was light (a very pregnant me enjoys that fact) and the weather just perfect, so Tob and
the kids could even go into the water too! It was a great day, we brought a few snacks to munch on during our morning and afternoon there (homemade ones, no packaging waste!)

I hope this post helped inspiring some of you to take your kids to learn with nature too! Allow them to discover a world beyond home, with as littlest restriction as possible. Raising environmentally conscious children will shape a better, greener future. Mahalo!

WHAT I WORE IN THAILAND

I feel like such a real blogger when I do those kind of posts, it’s great. To be quite honest I’m not a very fashionable person, I just like to be wearing whatever I feel most comfortable in, and when it looks good it’s a plus!

When I got pregnant I ordered some maternity clothes and I finally had to start wearing them like a couple weeks before the trip, so they were my go to when I packed my bags for Thailand.

Look 1: Skirt + t-shirt // Earrings // Sandals

Look 2: Turtleneck shirt + pants // Sunglasses // Wedges

Look 3: Dress

Look 4: Top // Shorts // Coverup // Sunglasses

TEA TALK

I’ve always been a major coffee person. It has been my main fuel for years – then I got pregnant, and my doctor recommended to slow down on the caffeine intake during those months. And so it began my quest searching for something that’d up my energy levels.

Tam (@mamabele) told me to try these packed teas and I just love them! My energy is back up like a dream. It’s a blend of oolong, goji berry, lemongrass, and some I just can’t remember right now. They claim it can also boost the immune system, help with digestion…Plus, it’s all natural and vegan friendly!

try it now!

20 WEEKS LOG (& SURPRISE TRIP!)

Woohoo, halfway through! Last week was pretty busy, so we’re skipping the 19 week log. And I have exciting news: Tobias surprised me with a quick trip to Thailand! We are going the first days of April, before Emerson’s 3rd birthday.

It’ll be our last big trip before the baby arrives, since we’re not really planning on leaving Hawaii after that. My dad is coming over to stay with Angus and Mercy.

Bump? I feel like I haven’t really gotten any bigger than the last two weeks, but I still feel pretty big considering how far along I am.

03 . 07 . 2013

Since our wedding day was 5 years (plus one week!) ago, I figured this blog needed some throwback photos. Angus beared our rings! It was an almost warm spring night, and we had some fabric and lights to make a magical ceiling. We also got sunflowers, my favorites, as the main decoration. One of the happiest days of my life.

We’re lucky we had no rain!

SURPRISE, SURPRISE!

We were waiting for the second trimester to begin and after our family and closest friends knew about it to tell the good news here. Baby #3 is on the way!

Me and Tobias were “trying but not trying”, and last november I started feeling queasy in the mornings which made me run to the drugstore for a test. Guess what? Positive! We’ve been over the moon eversince. Gus and Mercy are so excited to be older siblings. Angus hopes it’ll be a boy this time around.

Is it time for the first pregnancy log? It is!

CHRISTMAS EVE & CHRISTMAS DAY. MONTAUK!

I know, I know, I am very late for the Christmas post bandwagon.

This saltwater mama here hates the cold, but it was about time we spent the holidays in Montauk, my and Tobias’ hometown. I didn’t really have to do anything as far as decoration goes; Debra, my mother-in-law did most everything and all we had to add were the gifts under the tree!

It was a pretty chill couple days, we all just stayed in enjoying each other’s
company (and waiting for Santa, of course). Nana read stories and we
cozied up with eggnog and other christmas-y treats.

Hope you all had a great Christmas! Angus’ birthday is now on the 28th, so there’s still more fun to come.

LIFE UPDATE: 4 YEARS LATER.

And you thought you had seen the last of me. Since my last post on this blog so much has changed. I got married to my best friend, moved to my dream home in my dream place, got pregnant one more time and adopted two dogs. So here we are: Hawaii. It just fits our family so well.
What happened to me? Am I crazy? That woman whose dream was to travel the world and never settle, always seeking adventure. Thing is: I changed. The realization came to me 4 years ago, once I realized we had been docked in the same place for four whole months, because I just didn’t feel the need to leave. I had settled. I found my home not in a place like I always thought it worked, but in a person, in a feeling. If I told myself that seven years ago, I would have laughed at my own face. Now, it just seems natural. So this brings us to the present: we’ve landed, and this time for good.
